This last weekend saw our 12U Boys and Girls compete in the County Cup. The Boys were playing to qualify for nation finals in Widnes, whilst the girls travelled up to Dumfries to compete in regionals.
The girls had a great weekend, beating Northumberland 6 - 0, and West of Scotland 5 - 1 on Saturday and then North of Scotland 4 - 2 on Sunday. This, of course, led them to top their group.
The boys narrowly missed out on qualifying for the national finals. They beat both West of Scotland and Warwickshire on Saturday, albeit through tie break shoot outs after each match stood at 3 - 3. This led them to play off against a very strong East of Scotland team on Sunday. Unfortunately the Cheshire No.1 player Joe Knightley could not play and despite close singles matches they lost 0 - 4.
A great effort all round from our 12Us… a credit to our county!
