At our Cheshire Tennis Presentation Evening held at the Chester Racecourse in December last year, all our award winners in various categories were announced. The winners in the LTA Award categories were submitted for judging within the region, so Cheshire winners were judged against the county winners from Cumbria, Durham and Cleveland, Lancashire, Northumberland, Yorkshire and the Isle of Man. Three of our winners won the Regional awards which was a fantastic achievement for one county. Mary Timothy won the Regional Lifetime Achievement Award, Tom Brown was judged to be Regional Official of the Year and Nichola Smith Regional Development Coach of the Year. The photos show Tom and Nichola being presented with their awards by Sandi Procter, President of the LTA, at the Lexus Ilkley Trophy Tournament last week.
Both Tom and Nichola were also judged to be in the top three in the country in their categories which in itself is amazing and National judging will take place during Wimbledon. We wish them both loads of Cheshire luck!!
